Dear Family,
This past Tuesday we had a visit from Elder Alonso of the 70. I quite
enjoyed his talk. All of the missionaries from 3 zones in Cancun and 1 in Playa
del Carmen were there. On Monday they announced who would be housing the
Elders that had to travel. They told us that we wouldn`t be housing anyone, but
at 9:15 p.m. a taxi pulled up to our house with a companionship from Playa del
Carmen. One of them treated us to Pizza Hut.
We didn`t have too much luck with lessons this week like we did last week,
but we have more progressing investigators. There is a family that went to
church and has a baptismal date for October 2nd. There is also an
investigator named Lefi that showed up last week and this week to church and is
reading and praying, all of which she is doing without us telling her to. We
are also teaching the wife of a less active member. She`s doing ok, and once
she starts making an effort to read The Book of Mormon, she will progress
quickly. This week we might have a baptism of a 10 year old. Her parents have
been canceling the appointments we set up last week, so we haven`t seen them
since Tuesday, but we are going to see them tonight.
My testimony is good. These last 2 years have been extremely difficult,
but extremely rewarding, and I am glad that I went.
Love,
Elder Gubler
